In the stillness

Norma, one of our chaplains, shares a touching memory about a patient:

“Mary came to us several years ago for end of life care. She had lived a full and productive life and was one of those people who just seemed to radiate happiness. She told me about her faith journey – within which, the scent of freesias had been important to her. Her calm and serenity were a gift to the staff, her fellow patients and the volunteers. I can’t smell freesias now without thinking of her, and they are a constant reminder of what our patients do for us, as well as what we can do for them.”
