A Harvest festival to remember

We’ve had some amazing donations over the years, but none as rewarding as the annual delivery of freshly harvested produce from the schools and churches of Bath every autumn.

However, in 1979, we managed to net a bumper harvest from the community, which coincided with an unusual absence of patients.

Rather than see it spoil, everyone pitched in for an all-night peeling session, managing to prepare their way through a literal mountain of potatoes, carrots, cabbages and fresh fruit, filling the freezers to capacity.
